Wachendorfia thyrsiflora is a moisture-loving, rhizomatous perennial with tall yellow/orange flowering spikes that bloom from spring to midsummer. Commonly known as red root. we have it growing in a position that is moist when we have good rain, but in the drought this area dried out and the Wachendorfia still kept going!
